Military installations and surrounding communities must work together to effectively address and mitigate issues that may affect the community's ability to grow and/or the installation's ability to conduct operations and training. State and local government officials, private citizens, and installation representatives should understand each other's priorities, needs, and planning processes to assess how respective planning decisions can affect other parties. This tab provides information and examples of best practices that have been implemented across the country to improve compatibility and relationships between military installations and their respective surrounding communities.

Help Stop Fraud in State Government

The Maryland General Assembly’s Office of Legislative Audits operates a toll-free fraud hotline to receive allegations of fraud and/or abuse of State government resources. Information reported to the hotline in the past has helped to eliminate certain fraudulent activities and protect State resources.
