How the Department of Agriculture Supports Military and Community Compatible Use

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) supports compatibility through its leadership on agriculture, natural resources, and rural development. USDA programs combine cutting edge science with responsible public policies to improve military-community compatibility, while concurrently accomplishing other core mission goals. The USDA consists of multiple agencies, each with its own programs featured here. They can provide planners, communities, and military installations with additional funding to implement projects that protect natural habitats, working lands, and address compatibility. Military alliances and partnerships can combine these USDA programs with other funding to facilitate implementing multiple projects that provide holistic solutions to address resiliency, climate, compatibility, and economic development issues.
